Warning: NC-17!

Hi folks,

I'm posting for She's A Sassy Lady today.  Today I did a quick little sign for myself for my upcoming job search conference (more on that to come at my blog).  I wanted to create something that was small enough to travel with and something that I could post in the hotel room.

For this project, I used a small 4.25"x5.5" single side cardstock and drew lines with a gel pen. I used a white gel pen to put a dot in each corner box.  I then took a gold gel pen and drew squiggly lines to give it some flair.  I stamped "screw" on and wrote the other words with my white gel pen.  Although this is not the best word to use...I could have used an even worse one.  :)  I then took some Martha Stewart flowers and put them on the corners to give it a more frilly look to it.  I am planning on taping this to the mirror in my hotel room, or the back of the door so I can see it right before I leave for the day to go to all of the interviews.  The other idea I had was to keep it in my bag so that I could look at it between interviews for a little comic relief.  I was nervous to do this, however, this IS She's a Sassy Lady, so I thought I could get away with it being a little sassy.  :)

I hope I didn't offend anyone!  You were warned in the title of the post.  :)

Small Folder

Hi folks,

Today I have a small project for you using the Artiste cartridge.  I have been fascinated by the 3D items on this cartridge and decided to try my hand in one of them.  I was excited to try the magazine folder/holder.  Not knowing how big it was, I gave it a go.  I used the Dotty For You paper pack from last April/May.  Here's my project:

On the back of the folder I used the small stamp from Close To My Heart called Card Chatter - Focus on the Little Things.  I thought this was perfect because the holder is so small.  I made a rookie mistake by stamping it after I put it all together.  I should have stamped it beforehand.  To add a little bit a flair I used some ribbon and created a bow and used a pop dot to adhere it to the folder.  I should have used the same paper for the top and bottom so it didn't look so mismatched like what is shown above.  You live, you learn.  Other than that, I think I am going to put small tools in it (scissors, colored pencils, etc.) so I can easily reach them without having to open a package.

I hope you like it!

New Doortags!

Hi there!

I have a fun little post for you today.  Last night I gave my RAs their new doortags.  Each semester, the RAs are required to give their residents 2 doortags.  At the beginning of the semester, and right before Spring Break.  It is encouraged that we as pro-staff do the same.  So, I made their new doortags for the March 1st deadline.

It just so happens that over at Exploring Cricut, we had a challenge to create a post with a household pet or animal if we didn't have a pet.  So I made cute little squirrels for my RAs.  I cut the squirrels at 5.5".  I then added a couple hints of white gel pen and wrote the RAs name on the tail.  How fun!

Thanks for stopping by to have a peek!

Congatorulations!

Hi folks!

I hope you are gearing up for a nice weekend!  I leave for my job placement conference in 6 days, so I have a lot of last minute things to accomplish, and I need to study up for my interviews!   Eeek!

Anyway, I wanted to share with you a card I made for a coworker.  She recently was offered and accepted a new job.  Her last day was this past Monday, so I made her this card to say "congatorulations".  She loved it!  She did think that I really butchered "congratulations" but then realized why it was spelled that way.

The card is 3.25"x8".  The alligator, itself, was cut out at 2".  After all was said and done, I added some gel pen to give some dimension, popdotted him up and put a bakers twine bow around his neck.  I was really pleased with the way he turned out!  The alligator is from the original Create a Critter cartridge.  Check out the photos below!

I forgot to take pictures before I signed the card, sorry for my messy handwriting!

I'll be back on Monday with 3 new posts.  Stay tuned!  :)

Triple Stamping!

Hi folks,

I have always wanted to try triple stamping but have always been nervous to do it.  I'm nervous to do a lot of things.  Haha.  Anyway, I knew that I wanted to create a quick and easy Valentine's Day card that was easy peasy.  Triple Stamping is the easiest!  Well, not the easiest, but it's fairly quick and easy to do!  Basically, I took a card  base at 4.25"x5.5" and did several layers.  The first layer was 4"x5.25".  The second layer was 3.25"x4.5".  The third layer was 3"x4.25".  The fourth layer was 2.25"x3.5", and the 5th layer was 2"x3.25".

I adhered the cream base cardstock to one another and stamped the flourish first.  This was done with grey ink.  Then I used the heart and stamped that in cranberry ink.  After that, I put all cream colored cardstock on the dark blue colored cardstock and wrapped the top 4 layers in bakers twine.  I added a button for a little extra.

Here's a close up of the layers.

On the inside, I adhered a 4"x5.25" piece of cream colored cardstock and stamped the same heart image on it.  I think it turned out cute!  Actually this card can be used for something besides Valentine's Day.  Maybe an anniversary, or special occasion.  Anyway, a super cute card, supe quick!

Exploring Cricut Challenge Day!

Hi Folks,

Today, we have a challenge over at Exploring Cricut.  We were to create a Valentine's Day themed card, papercraft, or scrabook layout.  Below you will see the card I made.  If you are interested in being a part of the challenge, head over to Exploring Cricut and submit your card too!

I used Create A Critter 2 to create this card.  Check out the link below if you are interested in purchasing this cartridge!

For the card, I used paper from my stash, I believe it came from Authentique.  The card is a 5"x7" card base.  The patterned paper is from Authentique as mentioned above, and it's cut at 4.75"x6.75".  The monkey was cut at 4" and the Bananas 4 u was cut at 2".

I went a bit farther and took a white gel pen and black gel pen to add some dimension to the cuts.  I hope you enjoy!

Feeling "ruff"?

Hi folks,

Here's a quick card you can make for someone who's feeling under the weather, or just not good in general.  I found a similar card online about a year ago and it has been floating around in my mind to recreate it.  Here's the card!

I used the Doodlecharms cartridge and cut the puppy at 4".  The card base itself is 5"x7".  The brown layer is 4.75"x6.75" and the yellow lattice bace is 4.5"x6.5".  I made the sentiment on my computer and printed it on white cardstock, trimmed it up and backed it on brown cardstock.  I also used twine and wrapped it around the top layers of the card three times.  I used pop-dots to adhere the sentiment over the twine.  I also put the dog on an Action Wobble and used a white gel pen to add some dimension to the ears and nose.  Oh!  I also didn't have any googly eyes - I need some of those!  So I used my Liquid Pearls and did a dollop of white for the eyes and black onyx for the pupils.  Cute, huh?

Here's a picture of the dog in action.  :)
