Hi there!
Today I have a post for the Cricut Is Close To My Heart blog. I have a fun birthday card that I created using the Art Philosophy cartridge. I am lucky to have both of my sisters birthdays in July. Knowing that I needed to get on the ball and get some cards made, this is one of the cards I made for one of my sisters.
As mentioned previously, I used the Art Philosophy cartridge. The card was from button 50, or the last page in the AP cart handbook before the keypad layouts. I also used the layer from that same page on the inside of the card. The stamp was from Close To My Heart and came with the AP cartridge. I used the Pemberley paper pack collection. On the front of the card, I stamped the two cupcake images. I cut out the cupcake four times from the AP cart four. I then was able to stamp in different colors and layer the images appropriately. I ended up placing the cupcakes on pop dots on the front of the card. I took some twine and wrapped it around the front cardstock 3 times. To finish it up, I etched the card with a white gel pen. I really liked the final outcome of this card! Here are some pictures.
I cut the card at 8" (but would definitely pair it down for next time. On the inside of the card I cut the paper at 8" as well to line it up appropriately. The cupcakes were cut at 2.5". The twine is from a twine share I was involved in so I'm not sure what brand it is. The white cardstock is from Michael's Recollection brand.
I hope you like my card. It's simple yet elegant. I think it fits my sisters personality perfect. I do apologize that there is no video to go along with the card, but more videos to come! :)
Thanks for stopping by to take a look! Enjoy your day!
Craft on,
Ian
I accept your apology for not having the video, but I am definitely bummed about it!!! I think this has to be my favorite card that you have created, love it! To bad I don't have that cart, but I am gonna try to make my version of the card base using the gypsy, love love love your card!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. :( I will try my best to create a video for the next card. Christmas in July is next! Stay tuned for that. If you want the AP cart let me know! I'm a consultant with Close To My Heart. The AP cart comes with so much for the price you pay. Definitely a deal! :) Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you love the card! :D

ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lee-Ann! :) Isn't that card fun? I won't cut it so large next time but it was cute when it all came together.

Migdalia
Thanks, Migdalia!! I know, I know. Next time there will be a video. :) So glad you love the card!!
DeleteFantastic birthday card!!! I love it! Your sister is gonna love it, too! Love those cupcakes! :)
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks, Sharon! So happy you loved it. :) Aren't those cupcakes fun?! Love them! :)
DeleteLove the card, what are you doing for an envelope since you cut it so big???
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie!! :) Ugh, as for the envelope, about half way through I thought...how the heck am I going to send it?! So I went to the post office and just sent it in a really flimsy priority mail? Parcel Post? envelope. It won't be fancy when she receives it (the "envelope" that is) but it will do the trick for now. :) Definitely cut it smaller if you do the card.
DeleteYou did a fantastic job Ian, love the stitching!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! :) Glad you were able to stop by.
DeleteThis card is beautiful. It is not over done. I love the colors also. Thank you for sharing with all of us.
ReplyDeleteKathy:)

Thanks again.

ReplyDeleteDid you take a picture of the card you sent me?
I think it would be a great one to share with your blog followers.

:( you know what? Looking through my pictures I realized I didn't. Boo! Thanks so much for your nice compliments! :D I'm so so so happy you love the pens and holder. Did you understand what I meant about one of the tabs that was missing. I taped it so that they didn't fall out - but they are still new so just a little scuffled. haha. :) I wish I had taken a picture. Dang!
