Exploring Cricut Challege: Red, White, and Blue!

Hi everyone!

As many of you may know I am a designer on the Exploring Cricut blog.  My first task of being on the blog, required me to participate in the challenge.  It was so much fun!  Knowing that I had three separate cards to make for Exploring Cricut, a blog hop on Tuesday as well as filling in for the woman who runs Cricut Is Close To My Heart on the third as well, I was destined to find different cards celebrating Independence Day.

This card came from the Art Philosophy Cartridge available at iandreger.ctmh.com/retail and the Summer Celebrations Cartridge.  The flag came from the Summer Celebrations cartridge and was cut at 6".  The card base was cut at 5.5" and the first layer was cut at 5".  The left part of the flag was raised using pop dots to give it a 3-dimensional look to it.  The papers I used for this cartridge came from Michael's and are of the Recollections brand.  The card base was cut from All About Boys card stack.  This was a fun card to make and I would definitely make it again.  Also, this image was very easy to cut and piece together from the Summer Celebrations cartridge so I highly recommend using the cut as long as it's over 5".  :)  The stamp set is from Close To My Heart and is American Celebration D1458.  You can purchase this stamp set here.

Sadly, there is no video today, but stay tuned for more projects to come, as mentioned above, on the 3rd.  To show what I made, here are the photos of the card!

Now here's a challenge for you all.  Grab some red, white, and blue paper (and for my Canadian friends, some red and white) and create a card, layout, or paper craft project.  Then head over to Exploring Cricut to link it up.  You have until July 7, 2012 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Happy Independence Day!

Craft on,
Ian
